The Weekend of July 23, 2011 3.820 K6VHP memorial: Summer Gathering at Ron & Deborah’s Place in Eureka The plan so far is to begin the weekend with dinner at the Ingomar Club for those able to arrive by 6 p.m. on Friday evening. The cost for dinner will be in the range of $40 to $50 per person including tax and gratuity. Dress will be “business casual” (collared shirts, no jeans, tie optional). On Saturday, the day is free until early afternoon if you would like to explore the area. Options include Eureka Old Town, the annual AutoXpo in Fortuna, the Victorian Village of Ferndale, touring the Redwoods ..additional link Redwoods. Or.....you could always arrive early and help me prep my vintage truck for the AutoXpo. At about 3pm on Saturday, there will be an afternoon barbecue and guided tours of Ron’s ham shack. Those not taking the tour are welcome to observe from Deborah’s side of the office while drinking their beverage of choice (think margarita). Observers may reserve the right to comment upon the tour and its participants. On Sunday, let’s get together for brunch. The actual address for my QTH is 1398 Nigel Ln, Eureka CA 95501. Using www.maps.google.com and entering 40.793472, -124.153499 puts the green arrow on the exact location of my house. An "A" shows on a neighbor's property......nothing is exact. Just entering the 1398 Nigel Ln. address into maps.google.com puts the arrow on my neighbor's house, on Nigel Ln., ....but it's only 50ft off. Actual driving instructions.... From the intersection of 17th and P St. .....drive south on P St. about 120 ft. Turn right (west) on Nigel Ln. Drive straight back about 200 ft. The house is on a very short private lane....straight back (due west). The house is a new Craftsman style...light brown and white trim. However, feel free to contact us!
